Let The Games Begin

27 athletes from around the state of Washington arrived yesterday at the Holiday Inn Express in Sea-Tac to begin the journey to the 2010 National Games in Lincoln, Nebraska. Once the athletes, family members, coaches and staff arrived, we headed over to the Sea-Tac city Hall for the Athlete send-off.

The send-off was a fabulous experience for everyone. After a long day of travel for many of the athletes, the pizza and cake were well received - along with the well put together ceremony, emceed by our very own CEO, Beth Wojick. Also speaking and in attendance was the mayor of Sea-Tac and local law enforcement.

Everyone involved with Team Washington had a great time! Special thanks to the SOWA team for putting it all together and to everyone in attendance for making it an exciting an meaningful experience!

Upon our return to the hotel we were happy to see that James Riley from the Sounders had shown up to send the soccer team off. I'm a fan of James - great guy!! We were able to to snap a few photos and James took the time to sign a bunch of garb! Everyone in the hotel thought this was super cool - which it was. Thanks James for coming out, the athletes loved it!
